ABOUT THE PODCAST
How, and Why, to listen to this podcast, "When God Stoops Down."
This podcast is designed to walk others through God's Word, starting at the beginning. If you haven't listened to the podcast, go to the episode list and sort them from oldest to newest to start in Genesis and get an overview of this story that God is writing. It's an important story to tell as we find our place in it and know more about who God is because of it.

When I felt God first called me to start a podcast, it made sense. Why not do the only thing I really know to do and do it for the Lord? I am a terrible cook; I am not crafty. I don't like math or coffee or running. So, God is probably not going to call me to an exercise ministry, or to be on a financial board for an amazing organization. But if, as a former television journalist and radio news show host, I can share bad news publicly, then I can certainly share through a podcast about the love of Jesus.
But where do I begin? How do I do that? When I get overwhelmed, I tend to shut down. I ignored the calling until it really became about obedience. I told God my story is amazing, to me, but will it matter to other people? I was focusing on the podcasts of those who had amazing stories to tell and specific passions to share and I wasn't sure what *I* had to offer.
The Lord was clear... I don't have to tell MY story... the story has already been written. The greatest story is the one God has already been telling since the beginning of time. MY OWN story, and yours, are only a small part of a bigger story that God is writing.

While I had been a Christian since I was young, it wasn't until some dark seasons that I REALLY begin to know the Lord personally and intimately. I was in my 30's when I read my Bible all the way through, and chronologically, for the very first time, and I suddenly saw how all the pieces of God's Word work together. I could see more clearly how I was a part of this beautiful story God is putting together. Reading God's Word and knowing Him deeper has changed my life.
I LOVE learning about God's character through His Word! But the Bible can be difficult to understand, especially the Old Testament. So, the Lord laid it on my heart to walk others through the Old Testament one scripture verse at a time. While I can only give an overview look, it's an important message to tell. The Lord is weaving a story of relationship and rescue that our current culture desperately needs. But instead of seeing the Bible as the answer, it has become irrelevant. Now, when God's Word of hope and purpose is needed more than ever is not the time to dismiss God's beautiful plan of salvation that He has been working out since the beginning of time.

Join me as we see God, and ourselves, more clearly through His Word. I hope that, with God's guidance, this podcast can make God's Word personal, relatable and understandable. I want this to just be a jumping off point for you to dig deeper and go further on your own, knowing that it is possible. The Bible, though difficult, isn't meant to be a mystery, but rather a key to unlocking the secrets of God's heart.

ABOUT ME
A few years ago, I was working as a morning radio news show host. In case you haven't noticed, the news (and media in general) is pretty depressing! The burden that pressed continually upon my heart was to wake people up with the Good News of Jesus. I was not called to share depressing news, I was called, and created, to share GOOD news. After all Jesus has done and been for me, I couldn't deny my calling to spend my life sharing about Him.
My heart has always been for Jesus. It wasn't though until I went through a dark season in my life that Jesus became real to me and became my everything. God continues to do the impossible for me. I've been through seasons where wave after wave crashed over me - a health crisis, surgery, infertility, two miscarriages, a broken marriage, an addict for a husband, lost income, shattered dreams and the death of my sister, who also was my very best friend. I couldn't breathe. God has never been more real and more present and more of a comfort than in those darkest hours. There's a quote by Charles Spurgeon, "I have learned to kiss the waves that throw me up against the Rock of Ages." How true.

I know firsthand that there's a world of complacent, "self-sufficient," broken people who do not know how relevant, how personal, how beautiful God is and wants to be to them. I do not have a choice but to tell my story of rescue, of love, of redemption.
Through my own total surrender, God was able to work the impossible out in my life. Thank GOODNESS His faithfulness did not depend on my own. He is the One who healed my body, my marriage, my grief, my conceit, my unforgiveness, my darkness, my selfishness and so many other broken pieces to redeem my story. He held me close. He never left me when all else left me. He is good. He is true. His promises never fail. I am living proof.
Come on this journey with me. Let's find out more about who God is and who we are because of Him.
